Meadowview Christian School was the last Dallas County School to hold its graduation ceremony.
Ten MCS seniors walked across the stage at Wadsen Field last Friday to receive their diplomas.
Valedictorian William Lewis and Salutatorian Devin Gupton each shared their memories of what it meant to attend MCS. Both finished as members of the National Honor Society, Senior Beta and received Advanced Diplomas.
“I tried my best and my hard work paid off,” Lewis said. “Being the Class Valedictorian is something I will always remember.”
Gupton said finishing at the top was a result of dedication and hard work.
“It feels great to finish second in the class,” Gupton said. “It was a lot of hard work and I worked very hard.”
Lewis will attend Shelton State Community College and transfer to the University of Alabama, major in Nursing.
Gupton plans to attend Coastal Alabama Community College and major in Engineering, with no transfer destination.
The other members in MCS’ Class of 2023 are: Kennadi Lauren Ballard, Ethan Thomas Everidge, Demaje’ Javier Gunn, Caleb Evan Hopkins, Averi Marie Liles, Maya Denise Mayes Rollins, Jaiveon Jarvis Savage-Irvin and Amy Lee Smitherman
