Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. announced Friday that Personal Property Debris Removal will end taking Right of Entry Forms from private property at the close of business day on June 16.

Perkins made the announcement at a press conference at City Council Chambers.

According to Perkins, FEMA has assessed 141 preapproved properties located in the Selma City Limits, but only 21 ROE forms have been received.

“This means that 120 property owners who have been preapproved have not given the city permission to enter their property,” Perkins said. “If your property has been approved by FEMA, you still need to give authorization to enter your property and remove tornado debris.

Residents must complete a ROE form gives the city permission. Forms can be picked up at the city clerk office, city attorney office or planning and development office. This is for residential properties and it must be owner of property.

Perkins said that the city received 50 properties not on the preapproved list  but requested assistance with debris removal and filled out the ROE form.
