William Bridges makes debut as new Dallas County Engineer

Dallas County Engineer William Bridges made his first appearance at the Dallas County Commission on Monday.
Bridges was hired a few weeks ago to replace Heath Sexton. Bridges ,a graduate of Auburn University, was previously the Escambia County Engineer, spending the last 19 years in that position.
“I look forward to working with everybody,” Bridges said. “Hopefully, we can get a lot accomplished.”
The Commission, Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Commissioners Curtis Williams, Jan Justice, Connell Towns and Vivian Rogers, welcomed Bridges.
“We won’t let the grass get under his feet,” Nunn joked.
Bridges had two Resolutions approved by the Commission.
-The first was Resolution 2023-06-02, approving land lease agreement for the extraction of top soil, gravel, and clay gravel with Three Marys, LLC.
-The other was Resolution 2023-06-08, applying ADEM Grant for replacement in Dallas County for $150,000, with a 35 percent match
