Southside High School announced their 2023 schedule this week and they are starting off with a big game to start their regular season in the Queen City Classic against Selma High on September. 1.
The Panthers will have a warm-up the week prior when they host a Jamboree on Aug. 25.
Right after Selma, the Panthers will enter conference play on the road with two road games. First against Trinity High on September 8 and Sumter Central on Sep.15. Panther Nation will be at home for the first conference matchup at home on September 22 against Saint James. This will be the first of four big games at home for Southside in a row. Keith comes to Southside for a highly anticipated rivalry match on September 29. Prattville Christian comes to town on October 6 for a big conference game as well as Southsides Youth Night. The last of the four home games will take place on Oct. 13 against Greensboro for Homecoming. The Panthers will go on the road for two weeks against Francis Marion and Alabama Christian on October 20 and October 27 before ending the season at home on November 2 against Dallas County. Head Coach Charles Moody said even though expectations are high and there are big games on the schedule no game can be taken lightly.
“All of the games are really important to us and we will play one at a time, so our focus will be on one game at a time,” Moody said.
