Selma City Schools is making sure all their bases are covered when it comes to the first day of school by asking local barbers to lend a helping hand in giving free haircuts to the scholars of Selma City School before the first day of school. In a post on the Selma City Schools Facebook page, the district made a call to the community.
“The SCS Central Office would like to give our scholars a head start on being prepared for class and we are asking for our community’s support to achieve this goal.”
If anyone is interested in giving free haircuts they are encouraged to call Selma City Schools Director of Career and Technical Education William Powell at 334-538-3179. The haircuts are scheduled for July 31 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Selma High School Gym.
