Selma High School is looking for a new Principal.
In a Social Media post last week, Selma that the school’s Principal position, was vacant.
Stoney Pritchett , who was the principal for several years, was transferred to oversee the Saints Virtual Academy and the Alternative Learning Center.
The Selma Times-Journal reached out to Selma City Schools Superintendent Dr. Zickeyous Byrd, who declined to comment.
A petition started on Change.org this week, entitled Retract Recommendation to remove Mr. Stoney Pritchett from Selma High School
Grannies Black, who started the petition, stated: “Dear Dr. Zickeyous Byrd, Superintendent of Selma City Schools, we, the students, parents, and community members, strongly urge you to retract your recommendation to the Board to remove Stoney Pritchett as Principal of Selma High School. We firmly believe that he is the best fit for serving in Saints Nation and should be allowed to continue in his position. Your consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated.”
At press time the petition had supporters.
