Clarification of a Selma Water Works and Sewer Board chart highlighted the Selma City Council Work Session on Thursday.
City Council President Billy Young, council members Michael Johnson, Christie Thomas, Lesia James, Jannie Thomas, Sam Randolph were the council members present at the meeting.
Johnson said SWWS chart was revised in 2016 by then-Selma City Attorney Jimmy Nunn, now the Dallas County Probate Judge.
At a Work Session two weeks ago, Rep. Prince Chestnut presented a SWWS chart. Johnson, who didn’t attend that work session, said that Nunn’s SWWS chart was more accurate.
Johnson urged the city council to speak with Nunn over the issue.
Young suggested the city council to vote on which SWWS they preferred.
“We need to get this issue behind us,” Young said. “We have more pressing issues.”
Former Selma City Councilwoman Susan Youngblood attended the work session.
The Selma City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Council Chambers.
