Champions crowned at Spades-Dominoes Tournament

New Champions were crowned at Annual Harris-Ponderosa Dominoes and Spades Tournaments during the Fourth of July weekend.
The events were held on July 1 at the Harris Estate.
The Dominoes Tournament Champion: is Jesse J. Mosley of Marion.
“I came to win the big prize right quick and I did just that,” Mosley said.
In the Spades Tournament, Larry Johnson Jr, and his aunt. Joyce Harris-Moore won the tournament. The pair of relatives were pleased with the victory.
“It was a battle and made me feel “good” to win the tournament,’’ Johnson said.
Harris-Moore said she was thrilled to bring a trophy back to LaGrange, Georgia, her residence.
““It made me feel “awesome” to win and bring the prize back to Georgia,” Moore said.
According to event officials over 50 people traveled from all points of the country to the to participate in the tournaments. Johnny Earl Harris Sr. was the event host of the tournament.
The family tournaments, which honored the late Lawrence “Badeedee” Harris of Selma, started in the Summer of 2006. Both events, which lasted until midnight, were the highlights of the Family Reunion.
“All of the players were eager and excited about participating, and showcasing their gaming skills,” said Linda Harris-Davis, whose family members participated in the event.
“People played fun and competitive games, shared accomplishments, posed for memorable photos and enjoyed each other’s company It was a family-oriented event.”
