Selma native gets Doctor of Nursing degree at Jacksonville

Earlier this month, Marilyn Scott received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Jacksonville State University on August 4.
A 1983 graduate of Selma High School, Scott credited family and friends for her success.
“I am grateful to God, my family and friends who supported me on this journey as I continue to carry out my purpose and passion as a professional nurse,” Scott said.
Scott graduated from Wallace Community College-Selma, earning a Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma and Associate Degree in Nursing.
The Montgomery resident earned BSN Degree from Auburn University in Montgomery and her MSN Degree from the University of Alabama.
Scott and her husband, GySgt USMC retired Bobby Scott, have two daughters Victoria and Valencia and a granddaughter, Blair.
