Morgan Academy plays host to Bessemer Academy in a crucial Region contest Friday night.
The Homecoming contest has the Senators (1-4, 1-2) battling to keep their playoff hopes alive.
“It is a big region game,” Senators coach Danny Raines said. “I’m looking forward to getting ready to face Bessemer. Hopefully, we can limit some of our mistakes.”
Selma at Park Crossing: The Saints (0-5) continue to chase their first victory of the season and travel to face Park Crossing Friday.
Selma has struggled to score points, with only a touchdown each offensively and defensively. The Saints have gotten shutout in the last two games, but Selma coach Leon Day said he still believes in the young Saints.
Dallas County at Carver-Birmingham: The Hornets (0-4) must find a way to start fast in games. Dallas County has trailed in every game this season.
Quarterback Kodell Sharp remains a bright spot for the Hornets, who will meet Carver in Birmingham Friday.
Meadowview Christian School at North River: The Trojans (0-4) continue to improve under first year coach John Treherne.
Sean Davis, Alex Johnson and Trent Ballard each continue to show leadership and never quit for MCS, who have scored over 30 points three times this season.
“We’ve got things to fix, but they’re improving,” Treherne said.
