The Dallas County Commission and Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) honored retiring Deputy Jimmy Caffey last week at the Dallas County Courthouse.
Caffey, who served over 25 years with the DCSO, received plaques from the County Commission and the DCSO. His wife, Debbie, also attended the ceremony.
“We’re losing a good officer; I wish we could hire 25 more men like Caffey,” said Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum. “He was dedicated and dependable. You could call him at two in the morning and he’s come to work. Just ask his wife.”
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn thanked Caffey for always being a hard-working and dedicated officer.
“We thank you for serving Dallas County,” Nunn said.
Caffey thanked the DCSO and County Commission for their support, saying it was an honor serving the community.
Dallas County Commissioner Curtis Williams also praised Caffey, saying “You did a fine job.”
