Morgan, Meadowview split basketball doubleheader

Morgan Academy and Meadowview Christian School (MCS) split a high school basketball game on Jan. 26 at Morgan Academy.
The Trojans took the boys’ game 64-55. The Lady Senators prevailed 50-8 in the girls’ contest.
Morgan Academy Athletic Director Danny Raines, who coaches the Lady Senators, said the two schools needed to play.
“It was good to play them,” Raines said. “Both teams played hard and it was a good atmosphere.”
Meadowview 64, Morgan Academy 55
Sean Pope scored 22 points as MCS beat Morgan Academy for the first time in 13 years. Jack Cobb added 16 points and JaKion Savage-Irvin finished with 11 points. Kemyron Pritchett and Alex Johnson each scored six points. Aryon Rucker scored three.
Barron Frazer led the Senators with 19 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots and four assists. Milton Hand, Speedy Parnell and Aiden Barnes each scored nine points. CJ Williams scored six points. Ryder Hughey had three points. Hand grabbed 14 rebounds. Wallis Gilmore had five assists.
Morgan Academy girls 50, Meadowview 8
Sarah Moore scored 16 points, while Kylie Calame added 11 to lead the Lady Senators (4-11). Paisley Denmark and Hadley Verhoff each scored six points, Ames Roberts added four points. Taylor Roberts scored three points, Kaylee Cornell and Delaney McHugh each scored two points.
Maddie Holt and Rebecca Goodwin each scored three points for the Lady Trojans. M.K. Krumkow scored two points.
