Dollar General held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Plantersville location on March 16.

Barbara McGee, who coordinated the event, said the store is much-needed in Plantersville.

“I’m very glad to have a Dollar General in our area,” McGee said. “The store is gonna provide jobs and revenue for the area and we hope our community will continue to grow.”

Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Commissioner Vivian Rogers, Valley Grande Mayor Wayne Labbe attended the event. district manager Elizabeth Curtis, store manager Anna Carter, and regional director Dave Sheppard also attended.

“It’s a great opportunity to have a Dollar General in Plantersville,” Rogers said. “When Barbara gets her mind set on something, you can’t stop her.” 

Nunn and Labbe both said they are pleased to have a store like Dollar General in Plantersville.
