Jones to receive Zeta Phi Beta Spirit of Hope Award

Selma Times-Journal Managing Editor James Jones will receive a Spirit of Hope Award from the Dallas County chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Saturday.
The presentation by the Gamma Alpha Alpha Zeta (GAAZ) will be made at the Selma Convention Center at 4 p.m. Saturday at the chapter’s seventh-anniversary celebration of its Finer Womanhood Observance. The event’s theme is, “Denim and Pearls: An Evening to Relax, Release and Refresh with Christian Comedy.”
The award is part of Zeta’s top national program, Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People). Jones, a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, has worked
“Anytime I get recognized for my work, I am always grateful,” Jones said. “I am honored and flattered that the Dallas County Zetas chose me as one of the first recipients of this prestigious award.”
GAAZ President Constance Hendricks said the sorority appreciates Jones’ hard work and dedication in the community.
“The members of GAAZ salute Jones’ spirit, work ethic and contributions for helping other people excel,” Hendricks said. “We want to thank him for his diligent community service.”
