Easter weekend is upon us and we’re glad to see the Selma and Dallas County community in the holiday spirit.
Since Palm Sunday weekend on March 24, easter egg hunts have been spread across the county. Valley Grande held its annual egg hunt on March 23, protruding almost a crowd of 300 participants.
We applaud the efforts of Valley Grande Mayor Wayne Labbe, councilwoman Sara Day and parks and recreation director Bubba Holley for putting together a solid egg hunt for the kids to enjoy.
We have the same praise to Selma Housing Authority (SHA) and its executive director Kennard Randolph for having a solid egg hunt. Randolph has done a wonderful job running the SHA, especially with holidays and special events.
Selma City Council members Jannie Thomas and Michael Johnson are having Easter egg hunts in their respective Wards on Saturday. We expect solid egg hunts in both areas because Thomas and Johnson are passionate about their residents.
Regarding Easter Sunday, we expect that all of the church services will be wonderful in their own way. We feel that the area is blessed with wonderful pastors across the board, each with unique styles of delivering messages.
Happy Easter to Selma and Dallas County.
