Best-selling author and Huntsville Attorney Robert Bailey was the Selma-Dallas County Public Library’s guest speaker on April 4.
Bailey, who discussed his latest book, “Rich Justice,” has visited Selma several times as an attorney. Bailey said he enjoys this trip as a Wall Street Journal best-selling author.
“I love being in Selma as an author,” Bailey said. “As a lawyer, I’ve been to Selma a few times. This is a beautiful, historic place.”

“I need to get Becky Nichols on my publicity team,” Bailey said. “I was invited to come here by her. You just can’t say no to Becky Nichols.”
The road for Bailey to become an author began over 10 years ago. He found encouragement from a creative writing course at Davidson College in North Carolina and Stephen King’s book “On Writing,” Bailey pursued writing a book with a law career and a family with three children, Bailey rose every morning at 4 a.m. to chase writing.
“It’s been a long and special journey,” Bailey said.
Bailey, a graduate of Alabama Law School, said he enjoys writing about Jason Rich, a classic ambulance chaser. His latest book in the series will be released on May 2. Thomas and Mercer are the publishers.
“The character of Jason Rich has a lot of meat on his bones,” Bailey said.
