Selma Police investigating Friday night murder

A Selma man died Saturday morning from gunshot wounds after being involved in a gunfight on Friday night on Alabama Avenue.
According to Selma Police Capt. Natasha Fowlkes, Titus Channey, 36, died on Saturday from injuries after being treated at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.
“On Friday around 9 p.m., Selma police officers responded to the 100 block of Alabama Avenue in reference to two gunshot victims,” Fowlkes said.
Fowlkes said that the other victim was treated and released, while Channey was initially transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center before he was transferred to Baptist South where he died, according to Dallas County Coroner William Alan Daley.
The incident remains under investigation by the SPD. No arrests have been made as of Monday.
