The Dallas County Commission approved two Resolutions at a special call meeting on May 1 at the Dallas County Courthouse.
The first item of business approved was the ALDOT agreement for repairs on County Road 59. Dallas County Engineer Anthony Crear said the repair a pipe was damaged back in January and ALDOT would reimburse the county for the entire $281,000 for repairs.
CR 59 is in the district of Commissioner Connel Towns, who said he received mixed reactions from residents. The road has been closed since.
“I’ve talked to people who live there. Some understand it. Others don’t,” Towns said.
The other line of business approved was Resolution 2024-05-01, approving the contract with James E. Lester to prepare for market rent analysis and advice regarding property at 200 Samuel E. Moseley Drive. Dallas County Attorney John Kelly said the lease expires in September.
The entire commission was present: Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Commissioners Connel Towns, Vivian Rogers, Jan Justice and Curtis Williams.
