Free, Alabama golf team earn NCAA Tournament bid

Former Morgan Academy graduate Jones Free helped the Alabama golf team play its way into the NCAA Tournament.
The ninth-ranked Crimson Tide earned the No. 2 seed in the 13-team Chapel Hill Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C. at the Finley Golf Club on May 13-15.
“We are excited to head to Chapel Hill and thankful to the committee for being awarded the No. 2 seed in that regional,” Crimson Tide coach Jay Seawell said. “Our boys look forward to the challenge and are excited for the opportunity. There are a lot of quality golf teams that are going to Chapel Hill. It will be a great challenge and we look forward to it as we prepare.”
Other teams in the Chapel Hill Regional No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 4 East Tennessee State and No. 5 Northwestern. The remaining teams include No. 6 Baylor, No. 7 VCU, No. 8 LMU, No. 9 Long Beach State, No. 10 Clemson, No. 11 Michigan State, No. 12 Ball State and No. 13 Howard.
