Orrville man arrested in high-speed chase

The Selma Police Department arrested an Orrville man involved in a high-speed chase on Thursday.

Jason Craig, 38, was charged with multiple counts: Attempted Murder, Felony Attempted to Elude, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Driving, Driving without a license, Driving Under the Influence, Duty Upon Striking Fixture and Driving on Opposite Side of Highway. The police chase went from Dallas County to Perry County. 

SPD officers were dispatched to the 2400 Block of North Lauderdale St regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, Officers observed a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the Hospital. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, is still in critical condition.

SPD identified Craig. Officers spotted Craig’s vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Craig refused to stop and took Officers on a high-speed chase. The chase exceeded speeds of 100mph. The chase concluded in Perry County when Officers boxed in Craig’s vehicle. Craig was taken into custody by the SPD.
