The Selma Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a teenage boy injured on June 24.

According to Police Chief Kenta Fulford, SPD officers responded to a shooting at the 1600 block of St. Phillips Street in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, SPD officers made contact with a 17-year-old black man who sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Fulford said there are no suspects identified at this time.

Fulford said no further details are being released at this time and the case remains under investigation.
