Selma Housing Authority has received a $2.3 million grant from HUD Jobs, plus an additional $840,000 for local matching funds.
George Washington Carver and Felix Heights residents will benefit from the grant, landing employment and education opportunities. Homes in both areas have economic challenges.
The program allows the SHA, in conjunction with the Selma Career Center and other local partners, to provide comprehensive job training, placement services, and supportive resources.
“Our goal is to help families increase their earned income and improve their economic mobility,” SHA executive director Kennard Randolph said. “We’re working towards bridging the wealth gap and fostering economic stability for our residents.”
