The Delta Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. recently donated to the March of Dimes. 

The Black Belt Alphas donated $1,000 to March of Dimes and presented a check to Ashley Gorum, senior development manager for March Dimes. Gorum came to Selma for the check presentation.

Alpha Phi Alpha and March of Dimes partnered to improve conditions for mothers and babies. The local Selma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha has donated annually to the March of Dimes for several years.

“The March of Dimes and Alpha Phi Alpha have worked hard to improve the lives of our citizens,” Black Belt Alpha member Billy Young said. “It is important for this relationship to continue to exist in our community.  We all desire healthy babies and mothers and will continue working together to improve infant mortality rates in the Black Belt.”
