Marion man killed in Linden collision involving train

A Marion man was killed in a collision involving a train on Alabama 28 near Linden on Friday morning.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a press release Friday night that a two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:35 a.m. Friday, July 26.
The deceased driver was identified Tristan G. Harris, 37, of Marion. The release stated that he was fatally injured when the 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer he was driving struck a train and caught on fire on Alabama 28 about two miles west of Linden.
ALEA indicated that Harris was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 28, approximately two miles west of Linden, in Marengo County.
The crash is under investigation by state troopers. No additional information was available as of Friday.
