The Selma Safe and Liveable Neighborhoods Housing Initiative will have a meeting on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Selma High School cafeteria.
The meeting is for survivors from the January 12, 2023, tornado that destroyed 40% of the area, qualified applicants and residents of Section 8.
The coalition of recovery partners was formed by the City of Selma offering resources to residents rebuilding the area: CDBG, Lead Safe Selma, Rural Studio, Choice Neighborhoods, NACA and AmeriCorps in partnership with Selma City Schools.
“Programs will assist with efforts to rehabilitate, construct and replace homes devastated by disadvantage and disaster,” City of Selma planning and development director Danielle Wooten said. “It’s critically important to get people connected to the resources.”
