Selma high school was the last school to officially open its doors for the 2024-25 school year in Dallas County
Superintendent Dr. Zickeyous Byrd and all of the principals, teachers, lunchroom workers and other support staff welcomed over 500 students bank to the district’s campuses on Monday morning.
Dallas County Superintendent Anthony Sampson and the staff of the Dallas County Schools also were happy to see the students return to school last Wednesday. School leaders at Morgan Academy, Ellwood Christian and Meadowview Christian have also welcomed their students back to class.
So far, it seems like the start of school has been pretty smooth. We’re rooting for the students to have a strong and productive year, especially those graduating seniors in the Class of 2025 graduates next May.
We’re rooting for all of our athletic teams as they begin their seasons.
We’re hoping for a great school year, a year that we hope will be one of the best in Dallas County in a long time.
