SAINTS VIRTUAL ACADEMY HOLD OPEN HOUSE

Saints Virtual Academy and Alternative Learning Center’s  Orientation and Open House was held on Monday. During the orientation, people will receive your course schedule, learn how to navigate the virtual platform and meet SVA’s faculty.

Krystal Allen, founder, and CEO of K Allen Consulting, delivered a compelling presentation to the Selma City School Board on August 6 about a recent study detailing the potential impact of implementing a new strategic plan for the school system. Recognition of SCS board members and Superintendent Zickeyous Byrd, who were all recipients of Hope Award by Drug Free Communities of Dallas County.

TEACHERS TAKE PART IN LIBERTY LEARNING PROGRAM

Second-grade and fifth-grade teachers actively participated in valuable Liberty Learning professional development at Selma High Selma High School on August 8. Liberty Learning, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to providing essential resources, training, and events that instill a deep understanding of citizenship and civics in our nation’s youth. The ultimate goal of Liberty Learning is to equip this generation to become exemplary citizens.

R.B. HUDSON TO OPEN FOOTBALL SEASON ON SEPTEMBER 3

RB Hudson Steam Academy opens its football season on September 3 at 6 p.m. at Memorial Stadium against cross-town rival, Martin Middle School.
