A 36-year-old woman was shot during an incident Monday morning on County Road 44.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said officers responded to the call of a gunshot victim in the 1000 block of County Road 44, which is in the Selma police jurisdiction.
“Upon arrival they made contact with a 36-year-old female who suffered a gunshot wound to the neck,” Fulford said. “She was transported to the Vaughn ER where she is receiving treatment.”
Old Marion Junction Road becomes County Road 44 outside the city limits.
Fulford identified the suspect as Raymon Averett. No information has been released as far as charges or condition of the suspect at this time.
