Asher HaVon’s concert that had been rescheduled for Friday, Aug. 30, has been canceled at Selma High School and moved to Saturday, Aug. 31, at The Anchor.
HaVon posted an announcement on Facebook Thursday, Aug. 29, saying that due to numerous scheduling conflicts, the Back-to-School concert will not happen at Selma High School.
The new location will be at The Anchor, 15 Franklin Street, Selma. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday. All VIP and general admission tickets “will be honored at the door.”
“As I prepare for my upcoming tour next year, I wanted to make sure to give my hometown one last special show before I hit the road,” HaVon said in the post. “Selma will always hold a special place in my heart. This one is for you,”
There will be a process for refunding tickets for people who bought tickets and cannot attend, but details were not included in the post. The scholarships that were originally planned to be awarded during the Selma High School concert will be given to the students individually at a later time.
Two things that are scheduled for Friday included the viewing for Au’Terrious Walter and the Queen City Classic football game between Southside and Selma at Southside at 7 p.m.
