The Selma Saints stayed unbeaten on the season as they defeated the Jemison Panthers 14-10 on the road Friday night.
The Saints (3-0) are off to their best start since 2014 when they won their first three games. Selma will now return home on Friday, Sept. 13, and take on the Northside Rams (3-0), who defeated Montevallo 48-14 Friday.
Jemison scored a touchdown and converted the extra point to go up 7-0. They also added a field goal to take a 10-0 lead.
Selma got on the board with a Kamari Duncan interception returned for a touchdown. Samarion Woods added the two-point conversion to cut the lead to 10-8 at halftime.
The only points of the second half came on a Tristan Wall pass to Jarvarious Marks for the touchdown.
From that point on, the Selma defense took over led by Kristan Moore, Duncan, Kendarious White, Ryan Woods, Brian Shears and Tyrone Sheppard.
“God is amazing,” Selma coach Leon Day said after the game.
