A man has been charged with capital murder in connection with a July 24, 2021 shooting in which a 21-year-old man was killed while driving his vehicle.
On Monday, Sept. 30, Judge Collins Pettaway presided over the initial court appearance of Kristopher Deon Stubbs. Stubbs, 46, was arrested Friday and is charged with the capital murder of Keterione Goldsby, who was killed at the intersection of LL Anderson Avenue and Lauderdale Street while driving his vehicle on Saturday, July 24, 2021. The victim’s vehicle came to final rest at the intersection of Minter Avenue and Lauderdale Street in Selma.
“Officers responded to the 1300 block of Lauderdale Street around 9:30 Saturday morning in reference to an accident,” Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said in a July 2021 story in the Selma Times-Journal. “Upon arrival, they discovered a black man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Baptist South where he later died from his injuries.”
United States Marshals located Stubbs and took him into custody in Montgomery. The warrant for his arrest was executed on Sept. 24. Currently Stubbs is being held without bond. Attorneys Maston Evans and Tacara Sabir have been appointed to represent Stubbs.
