Southside thrashes Hale County

The Southside Panthers made a statement Friday night in a big way, as they destroyed previously unbeaten Hale County 56-6 in a key region game at home.
The Panthers improved to 4-2 on the season and holds the tiebreaker for second place in the region over Hale County. Southside will look to continue its winning ways at Sumter Central.
After Southside built a 24-6 lead, the Panthers took control at the end of the second quarter. With 10 seconds left before the half, Southside added another touchdown to take a 30-6 lead to the break.
The Panthers scored two more rushing touchdowns in the third quarter to lead 42-6.
In the fourth quarter, Southside scored two of its longest scores of the night. The Panthers picked up a fumble and raced 97 yards on fourth-and-goal from the 2-yard-line for a touchdown.
After an interception, the Panthers scored on a 95-yard touchdown run for the game’s final score.
