The Southside Panthers defeated Wilcox Central on homecoming night 63-6.
The win improves the Panthers’ record to 6-2 on the season and 5-1 in Class 3A, Region 3. They trail only Thomasville in the region and will wrap up the No. 2 seed in the playoffs next week with a win at Thorsby.
Southside dominated from the opening kickoff jumping out to a 26-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and pushing the advantage out to 56-0 by halftime.
The second half featured a running clock. Both teams scored one touchdown each. Players who scored included Cedric Simmons, Derick Smith and Erick Smith. Camarion Allen threw several touchdown passes as well
