The Rev. Johnny James Simpson, 68, of Selma passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at East Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor James E. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in East Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Ashley’s JH Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilie Mae Crum Simpson. He is survived by his daughter, Lettie Simpson Harrell (William Jr.); his brother, Warnie Simpson Jr. (Elvira); and his sisters, Linda Brown (Clyde Sr.) and Lula Simpson (Bernard).
