The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced that the Blue Girth Swamp bridge on Alabama 14 in Dallas County will reopen by end of the day today, Nov. 27.

According to a press release, the bridge replacement project began in February with an expected completion of spring 2025.

“Even though the bridge is open and the detour is no longer in place, crews will still have final items to complete. Please remain mindful of people and equipment in the work zone and follow the posted speed limit,” the release stated.
