Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

By Becky Nichols

Well, it’s the “most wonderful time of the year!” That’s right! Seconds after we push our chairs in from gorging on Thanksgiving lunch- we are well on our way to the advent of another Christmas season.

It’s time to hang the stockings, trim the tree and crank up the carols!

So to celebrate another “season”, your library invites you to come and join us for our first annual “Haul out the Holly!” event.

We believe that every front door needs a welcome wreath- a signal of good times to come, of holiday festivities and of just the joy of advent life.

To make that happen, several of our wonderful library families have gathered magnolia, pine and spruce from their yards and grounds and “hauled” it to the library. We will position the program in our wonderful Vaughan Room but will have tables in the lobby to beckon folks to join the fun.

Free to all will be a 14-inch form onto which every person can stick greenery of their choice and create their own seasonal wreath.

On Thursday, Dec. 5, the front lobby and the Vaughan Room will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with tables of greenery and forms and helpers there to guide you!

We will even add Christmas music, cookies and hot tea (or cold- depending upon Alabama weather.

Mark your calendar for this unique community gathering as we ring in the season for every front door.
