Over 100 students Friday were recognized at R. B. Hudson STEAM Academy and honored for their impressive achievements during their IXL assessment last week.
The students honored, received gift certificates for bonus points in honor of their achievement and delicious snacks.
“Each of the dedicated scholars has not only improved but also reached proficiency in reading and math,” said Selma City Schools in an online post, dedicated to the students’ achievement.
The post also indicated that middle school also assesses students three times a year through their academic school year during the fall, winter and spring and said the results of this IXL assessment, showcases the hard work and commitment of their learners.
Like R.B. Hudson STEAM Academy, the Saints Virtual Academy is taking on the efforts of the assessment next week.
The IXL middle-of –the-year assessment will be administered on Tuesday, Dec. 17, and Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Saints Virtual Academy and Alternative Learning Center, according to an online statement provided by The Saints Virtual Academy.
The academy said they want families to be advised next week that a link was emailed this week reminding them to sign up for either Tuesday or Wednesday, to be sure that scholars are at school on time by 8 a.m. and to know breakfast and lunch will be served and children enrolled cannot bring cell phones to the exam because they are not allowed.
All electronic devices will be taken upon arrival to the assessment location if students bring them and those are items that exclude the testing taking materials such as their phone or smart watch.
The only item students are required to have to test is their fully charged laptop and the academy said the scholars will take both the reading and math portions of the IXL assessment on their assigned testing day.
