John Oliver Moss of Sardis passed away peacefully at age 97 in his sleep at home with his family on December 12, 2024. John was a retired professor at Concordia College and Wallace Community College and was a renowned, sought-after, and gifted woodworker, creating heirloom pieces for many in the local community and nationwide. He was a loving, devoted and proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John and his late wife, Doris, had a reputation for being kind and loving people. John was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mattie Moss, siblings, Estelle Moss Peasant, Thomas Monroe Moss, Sarah Moss Reese, and his beloved wife, Doris. A memorial service for John Moss will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Selma, AL.
