Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

We officially have only two shopping days left before Christmas.
I am in trouble. I still haven’t started shopping yet. It just seems like everything else going on with the paper this time of year doesn’t leave much time for me to do all of those things.
This weekend will be very important for me to get my shopping done while preparing to get the paper out early for Christmas this week.
Thankfully, Faith Callens, Bill Tomey, Tasha Tice and Katricia Waller and the rest of the BNI staff have kept me up to date with everything.
Honestly, I love the Christmas season, but it seems like I don’t get to enjoy it as much as I want to. I enjoy all of the simple things like preparing for a Christmas cantata at church, going caroling, putting up Christmas lights, seeing Christmas lights around town and just taking time to enjoy watching Christmas movies.
And I do like shopping and finding a good Christmas gift, but it takes time to do that.
This year, I haven’t been able to do as much as I’ve wanted. A lot of it is my fault as I just haven’t taken the time to be as involved as I like to be.
But maybe in these final days before Christmas, I can regain a little bit of the Christmas spirit.
Maybe others of you are in the same situation. For some reason or another, you just haven’t been able to get in the Christmas spirit. Maybe you’re going through a tough season in your life or other reasons.
I just hope that we all take a little time to slow down and smell the gingerbread.
