Storm shelters open for severe weather threat

- A storm shelter at Southside High School will be opened overnight as the area prepares for severe weather expected to touch down Wednesday night before leaving the area Thursday morning.

A round of severe weather is expected overnight tonight.
An enhanced risk of severe weather is forecast for Dallas County. All hazards including possible tornadoes, strong winds and hail are included in the threat.
According to the Dallas County EMA, all storm shelters have opened due to the impending storm threat.
The locations are:
Burnsville (behind VFD): 8609 Alabama Highway 14E
Orrville (behind Keith High school):1274 Co Rd 115
Tipton: 2534 Brown Street
Valley Grande (Horse Arena): 3271 Co Rd 65
Southside (behind Field house): 7975 U S Hwy 80E
Plantersville: 530 Pecan Road
Selma City shelter: 1609 J L Chestnut Ave
