Christmas Eve Shooting leaves one arrested, one injured

A day before the merriest day of the year, shots rang out in the 2300 block of Summerfield Road, leaving a 19-year-old Black male critically injured.

Several days after the shooting, 18-year-old Xzavier Furlow was arrested by The Selma Police Department as the primary suspect of the shooting and charged with domestic violence assault- first degree, which results in no bond per Aniah’s law; assault-first degree, which carries a $60,000 bond; and two counts of discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle, which results in a $30,000 bond.

Currently, Furlow is being held in the Perry County Detention Facility under no bond.
