Selma woman dies in Bibb County crash

A Selma woman was among the two persons who died in a single-vehicle crash in Bibb County Tuesday afternoon.

Jasmine S. McGary, 27, of Selma, who was a passenger in a car, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Jedarius K. Chancey, 31, of Huntsville was also fatally injured when the 2008 Lexus ES 350 he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and then a tree. Chancey was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Additional passengers in the Lexus, a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old, were both injured and transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:52 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, on Alabama 139 near the 6-mile marker, approximately 15 miles east of Centreville, in Bibb County.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate.
