Man dies at hospital from gunshot wound

The Selma Police Department is investigating the death of a Selma man, who was apparently shot in the area of Minter Avenue and Keller Alley on Saturday, Jan. 4.
Police Chief Kenta Fulford said officers responding to the call were made aware that a gunshot victim on Minter Avenue, which is in the vicinity of where the shots fired call was made.
Officers discovered David Lewis of Selma lying on the ground “suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.”
Lewis was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center’s emergency room, where he later died.
Fulford said the officers said they are investigating the incident, but no suspects have been arrested as of Monday.
“No further details are being released at this time and the case remains under investigation,” Fulford said in a statement.
