Please join us as we welcome first time author Georgina Cross to our “Lunch at the Library” event on Thursday, Jan. 23.
Cross was recommended by New York Times author and major writing success, Robert Bailey. Robert has visited our library twice and had a wonderful library experience.
It’s fun to get to know authors when they make the “big-time” like Robert -and equally fun to know them as they are just entering success. Georgina has written quite a few books and two of them, The Stepdaughter and Nanny Needed have been optioned by Netflix.
This is usually a pretty good indicator of upcoming successes so we feel we are lucky to get her to Selma before she rises to fame
She is the author of One Night with Penguin Random House, and the Amazon Bestsellers, The Stepdaughter, My Perfect Husband, The Missing Woman and The Niece.
A member of International Thriller Writers, Mystery Writers of America, Huntsville Literary Association, Cross is also the Founder & President of “Susie’s Wish”, an organization that sends patients with life threatening illnesses to the beach with their families.
Married to David, they enjoy time spent with their combined family of four sons. We look forward to hearing her story and hope you will join us. Books will be available for sale before and after the event on Jan. 23.
“Lunch at the Library” is also a way to connect with some of the other learning programs that run alongside that series.
From monthly classes to cooking to home skills, a variety of choices are yours.
This month’s featured “Library Cook” is John Hanning, notable Chili Chef. He will be joined by his equally talented wife who will assist with the required “Cornbread”!
“What’s Cooking at Your Library” is a chance to connect with our great community, enjoy a demonstration and sample a bit of someone else’s kitchen!
Each month we will present a different cooking specialty complete with demonstration and sampling!
January includes a basket weaving class, a review of basic sewing skills and glass etching as well as two book clubs from which to choose.
Your library is the perfect way to meet new folks, experience Selma fellowship and expand your 2025 horizons. We hope to see you here soon!
