A brief snow shower over Selma brought some excitement for some in the area.
Midday Tuesday, a snow shower moved through Selma and other areas of Dallas County as a storm system was pushing through the Southeast, bring record snowfall to the Gulf Coast regions from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. However, the heaviest snow fell south of Dallas County across the southern part of the state.
The threat of snow caused Wallace Community College Selma to cancel classes for Wednesday. No in-person classes will also be held for Selma and Dallas County Schools on Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the teens for the next two nights.
