Selma man charged with weekend shooting incident

The Selma Police Department has arrested a man accused of damaging vehicles and residences that appeared to be caused by a gunfire on Sunday afternoon.

Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford issued a statement Wednesday identifying the suspect as Travis Anderson, 21, of Selma. He was arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and shooting into an unoccupied vehicle. He added that more charges could be pending.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Selma Police department responded to the 1900 block of Laforet Drive in reference to shots being fired.

During the investigations, detectives found evidence that allegedly linked the suspect with this case.

“While in the area, officers observed several damaged vehicles and residences which appeared to have been caused by gunfire,” Fulford said in the release. “No further details are being released at this time and the case remains under investigation.”
