The trip back from South Carolina won’t seem like a long one for the Concordia Hornets. The fledgling football team notched their first ever victory in school history, defeating Allen University 25-6.
Concordia jumped on the Yellow Jackets in the second quarter, fueled by a 55-yard run through the heart of the Yellow Jacket defense by Ramle South.
Frank Goode carried the ball into the end zone giving the Hornets a 6-0 lead.
Concordia found the end zone a second time in the second quarter, this time thanks to the defense. The Hornets blocked a punt and returned it for the touchdown, pushing the score to 12-0.
South scored on an eight-yard run, pushing the score to 18-0. The Yellow Jackets, put their long score up in the third quarter. But quarterback Ken Johnson put the nail in the coffin, finding an open John Grubbs for the score.
