Friends of Striplin Performing Arts Centre Director Kitti Windham have been saddened this week to learn she is ill. Windham has been a patient at Vaughan Medical Center since Monday morning, when

she was stricken at her home on Dallas Avenue.

Members of her family are at her bedside: her mother, Kathryn Tucker Windham; her brother, Ben Windham of Tuscaloosa; and her sister Dilcey Hilley of Birmingham.

Her many friends are visiting the hospital to offer sympathetic support, but they are honoring the No Visitors policy in her room.

At the

time of her illness Windham was in rehearsal with cast members of her annual August musical, which this year is &8220;A Concise History of Selma.&8221;

Each December she has presented &8220;The Greatest Little Christmas Ever,&8221; with a cast of local children taking center stage.

Her family requests the community to offer prayers on her behalf.
