Following Monday’s sentencing, District Attorney Michael Jackson said it will take nothing short of a miracle for William Goodman to live outside prison walls for the remainder of his life.
Goodman was given consecutive sentences Tuesday, which included 99 years for attempted murder, 99 years for kidnapping first degree, 99 years for robbery first degree and 20 years for theft first degree. The sentences total 317 years, with 297 years to serve.
“He will have to find the fountain of youth if he is ever going to get out of prison,” Jackson said.
Goodman was found guilty on all charges last week in the kidnapping, robbery and attempted murder of Wallace Daniels.
Samuel Wayne Pitts, who was arrested with Goodman, pled guilty in July and received 35 years for attempted murder, 35 years for kidnapping first degree and 10 years for the theft charges after pleading guilty last in July.
The charges stemmed from a November 2010 incident in which both knocked on Daniels’ door asking him to take them to get gas. The two men then forced their way inside, struck Daniels over the head, and later attempted to cut his throat and dumped him in a lake.
Daniels survived and was able to crawl to safety.
