The City of Selma recognized several groups for their efforts to bring tourists to the area.

The leaders of the organizations were awarded plaques.

Those honored Thursday night at the Selma City Council meeting were The National Voting Rights Museum, The April 1865 Committee, The Selma Historic Preservation Society, Lions Club, the organizers of the annual Tale Tellin’, the Riverfront Market Day Committee, the Pride of the Alabama Elks Lodge and the Alabama Baptist Convention.
